Legacy Learning Academy

Legacy Learning Academy

I recently came across Legacy Learning Academy's products and instantly fell in love. Everything is handcrafted and very well made. Having taught kindergarten, I understand the importance of hands-on learning experiences and how much of an impact they can make. The shop owner is wonderful to work with and was once an educator herself. The shop itself is on Etsy and is broken down into age categories which makes it so easy to find the perfect gift for a child of any age, even infants! I decided to go with the blocks and scarves as our first products to try out. One of the main reasons I love these items so much is that the colors are all custom to what you want. The shop offers blocks in pastels, neon and metallic colors. The blocks pictured above are light pink, white and silver. The hand kites pictured above, are so much fun as well. Just like the blocks, the colors are custom to your preference. I went with pastel colors because when Hadley is not playing with them I hang them in her room as a decoration. Everything from the Legacy Learning Academy shop would be perfect as an Easter gift! So next time you are looking for that perfect gift, why not give the gift of learning? If you are interested in checking them out you can find them on Instagram and Facebook. Link to their shop is below. As always thanks for reading my blog, happy Sunday!

Happy Half Birthday Sweet Girl!

Oh my goodness how has it been six months already since I had you?! The time we've spent together has gone by so fast and I wouldn't trade one second of it for anything. When I found that I was pregnant I was so excited for these times that were now having together. Everything is more exciting and fun than I could have even imagined.

This was my favorite photo shoot by far! Everything was bright and colorful. The one piece that Hadley wore was from Gap and it was part of their Disney line. It's hard to see but Dumbo is on it as well as some colorful banners. I came across a lot of the Dumbo dresses and tops that were adorable but not very functional for a sixth month old, especially one that rolls around constantly. The tutu I found I amazon, I couldn't even tell you the brand. I simply just typed in the search bar baby tutu and it was one of the first ones to come up. The tassel banner hanging on the wall was from target in the dollar isle, (seriously love that isle!) Hadley's party hat that read 1/2 is from a boutique on Etsy called Little Blue Olive. They have the cutest party hats around! If you remember Hadley's crown she wore on New Year's Eve, it was from the same store. Lastly, and most importantly, the cake. I made it from home, as I'm sure you can tell. I'm not the best icing cakes LOL but it tasted so good! The mix is from Foodstirs, I recently came across their products online and fell in love. I can't tell you how many times I have found myself in the baking isle of the grocery store looking for all the ingredients to make an organic cake. It takes a lot of time and money to bake with organic ingredients in my opinion. This is why I fell in love with their products, they have already packaged up the ingredients that are sometimes hard to find and they ship them right to your door. Typically the only ingredients that you will need to buy ahead of time are things like eggs, milk and yogurt. For this cake mix, it called for yogurt so I decided to use blueberry yogurt and I am so glad I did. It turned out really well, my husband approved too! Overall, this was the happiest half birthday ever for this sweet girl!

Saying Goodbye to 2016

Our First Family Christmas

Christmas time is by far my favorite time of the year. Having Hadley be apart of all the festivities this year made it that much more special. I know she won't remember her first Christmas but she will have all the pictures to look back at someday and Ross and I enjoyed it all so much. Some of the things we enjoyed doing this year was visiting the Columbus Zoo to see the beautiful zoo lights. There she even went on her first carousel ride! We also made a gingerbread house, put up outside Christmas lights, visited Santa, watched a bunch of Christmas movies and had three family Christmases. Hadley had so much fun opening presents, but she was more interested in the wrapping paper. I'm sure next year will be a different story and I am looking forward to it and the years to come! Below are some pictures of all the fun times we had this season. I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas as well!

Always Be Merry

Don't you just love this time of the year? Everyone seems to be in a Christmas coma, smiling at everyone, opening the door for others and saying kind greetings. This is exactly why I titled this post as, Always Be Merry. I wish that people would act like this all year round instead of just during the holidays. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not
always the best at this but I do get stopped at the grocery store and mall a lot so I must not be doing that bad of a job at looking and acting friendly!

One of my favorite holiday traditions is taking pictures for our Christmas cards. This year it was even better because miss Hadley got to be apart of it! I loved coordination all of our outfits, its something I wish I had time to do everyday. I have shared some of our photos that we took for the cards above. Unfortunately the sun was not in our favor, so the porch picture that I wanted did not turn out well but we managed to get some other good ones!

As the Christmas season goes on, I will continue to share more traditions our family loves to do during this time of year. I hope you all enjoy this special time of year and show kindness to others throughout the rest of the year as well. As always thanks so much for reading!
